AFC East

Miami Dolphins

2023 Record: 11-6
Off. Rank: 1 | Def. Rank: 10
Points Scored: 29.2 (2) | Allowed: 23.0 (22)

Top Draft Picks:
1(21), Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn State
2(23), Patrick Paul, OT, Houston
4(20), Jaylen Wright, RB, Tennessee
5(23), Mohamed Kamara, EDGE, Colorado State
6(8), Malik Washington, WR, , Virginia

2024 Projection: 12-5

Comment: The Dolphins have the makings of a playoff-making squad heading into the regular season with a good mix of veterans and draft choices that can make a difference. The Dolphns led the league in passing yards (265.5) and rushed for 135 yards per game. They can, and will, light it up. Defense needs improvement, but not much.

Buffalo Bills

2023 Record: 11-6
Off. Rank: 4 | Def. Rank: 9
Points Scored: 26.5 (6) | Allowed: 18.3 (4)

Top Draft Picks:
2(1), Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State
2(28), Cole Bishop, S, Utah
3(32), DeWayne Carter, DT, Duke
4(28), Ray Davis, RB, Kentucky
5(6), Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, C, Georgia
5(25), Edefuan Ulofoshio, LB, Washington
5(33), Javon Solomon, EDGE, Troy

2024 Projection: 10-7

Comment: The Bills have been close to reaching the Super Bowl for the past three seasons. With Josh Allen returning at QB, the sky is still the limit and Buffalo could surprise with a productive playoff run. Rookie WR Keon Coleman has plenty of upside and the Bills will be strong defensively.

New York Jets

2023 Record: 7-10
Off. Rank: 31 | Def. Rank: 3
Points Scored: 15.8 (29) | Allowed 20.9 (12)

Top Draft Picks:
1(11), Olu Fashanu, OT, Penn State
3(1), Malachi Corley, WR, Western Kentucky
4(34), Braelon Allen, RB, Wisconsin
5(36), Jordan Travis, QB, Florida State
5(38), Isaiah Davis, RB, South Dakota State

2024 Projection: 9-8

Comment: With Aaron Rogers expected to return - and not be lost for the season after four plays - the Jets are a legitimate playoff contender and should improve dramatically on offense. Defensively, they may be the best in the conference.

New England Patriots

2023 Record: 4-13
Off. Rank: 30 | Def. Rank: 7
Points Scored: 13.9 (31) | Allowed 21.5 (15)

Top Draft Picks:
1(3), Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina
2(5), Ja'Lynn Polk, WR, Washington
3(4), Caedan Wallace, OT, Penn State
4(3), Layden Robinson, OG, Texas A&M
4(10), Javon Baker, WR, UCF

2024 Projection: 5-12

Comment: Even with a new QB in highly-touted Drake Maye, there won't be Bill Belichick on the sidelines. Jerod Mayo takes over as head coach and will do well to not start out the season 0-5. Good luck. The Patriots will need lots of it. After so much success, Patriots' fans are going to suffer through some tough seasons.

AFC North

Baltimore Ravens

2023 Record: 13-4
Off. Rank: 6 | Def. Rank: 5
Points Scored: 28.4 (4) | Allowed: 16.5 (1)

Top Draft Picks:
1(30), Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson
2(30), Roger Rosengarten, OT, Washington
3(30), Adisa Isaac, LB, Penn State
4(13), Devontez Walker, WR, North Carolina
5(30), Rasheen Ali, RB, Marshall

2024 Projection: 12-5

Comment: Perennial playoff contenders, could this be the year the Ravens break through and win it all? Kansas City, Miami, Cincinnati, and Cleveland will contest, but Baltimore had the top rushing offense in 2023, and Lamar Jackson is a big reason for that. The Ravens' defense is brutally tough and will likely lead the league in interceptions. Another division title and playoff looks to be near certain if the passing game improves even a little.

Cincinnati Bengals

2023 Record: 9-8
Off. Rank: 22 | Def. Rank: 31
Points Scored: 21.5 (16) | Allowed: 22.6 (21)

Top Draft Picks:
1(18), Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
2(17), Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan
3(16), Jermaine Burton, WR, Alabama
3(34), McKinnley Jackson, DT, Texas A&M
4(15), Erick All, TE, Iowa
5(14), Josh Newton, CB, TCU

2024 Projection: 12-5

Comment: As long as Joe Burrow stays healthy, the Bengals will contend with Baltimore for the division. Toss last season's stats as meaningless after Burrow went down.

Cleveland Browns

2023 Record: 11-6
Off. Rank: 16 | Def. Rank: 1
Points Scored: 23.3 (10) | Allowed: 21.3 (13)

Top Draft Picks:
2(22), Michael Hall Jr., DT, Ohio State
3(21), Zak Zinter, OG, Michigan
5(21), Jamari Thrash, WR, Louisville
6(30), Nathaniel Watson, LB, Mississippi State
7(7), Myles Harden, CB, South Dakota

2024 Projection: 9-8

Comment: The patchwork that typified the 2023 Browns won't get the job done in 2024, though getting a healthy Nick Chubb back will take some of the pressure off Deshaun Watson. Cleveland's defense had lapses at times last season and if those are eliminated, the Browns could be playoff bound.

Pittsburgh Steelers

2023 Record: 10-7
Off. Rank: 25 | Def. Rank: 21
Points Scored: 17.9 (28) | Allowed: 19.1 (6)

Top Draft Picks:
1(20), Troy Fautanu, OG, Washington
2(19), Zach Frazier, C, West Virginia
3(20), Roman Wilson, WR, Michigan
3(35), Payton Wilson, LB, NC State
4(19), Mason McCormick, OG, South Dakota State

2024 Projection: 7-10

Comment: Rumors about HC Mike Tomlin's future last season were largely overstated, but this season could prove to be his last if Pittsburgh finishes under .500 and misses the playoffs. The Steelers are clearly in rebuilding mode and that's going to be tough on the coaching staff as well as some veterans.

AFC South

Houston Texans

2023 Record: 10-7
Off. Rank: 12 | Def. Rank: 14
Points Scored: 22.2 (13) | Allowed: 20.8 (11)

Top Draft Picks:
2(10), Kamari Lassiter, CB, Georgia
2(27), Blake Fisher, OT, Notre Dame
3(14), Calen Bullock, S, USC
4(23), Cade Stover, TE, Ohio State
6(12), Jamal Hill, LB, Oregon
6(29), Jawhar Jordan, RB, Louisville

2024 Projection: 11-6

Comment: Following the success of HC DeMico Tyans and rookie QB C.J. Stroud, the Texans are the team to beat in the South and may have some juice going into the playoffs. Young and loaded with talent, Houston is one of the teams to watch down the stretch.

Jacksonville Jaguars

2023 Record: 9-8
Off. Rank: 13 | Def. Rank: 22
Points Scored: 22.2 (13) | Allowed: 21.8 (17)

Top Draft Picks:
1(23), Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU
2(16), Maason Smith, DT, LSU
3(33), Jarrian Jones, CB, Florida State
4(14), Javon Foster, OT, Missouri
4(16), Jordan Jefferson, DT, LSU
5(18), Deantre Prince, CB, Ole Miss
5(32), Keilan Robinson, RB, Texas

2024 Projection: 9-8

Comment: After week 12, when the Jaguars were 8-3, they seemed like a lock for the playoffs, but the defense completely fell apart, losing five of their last six games, allowing 29.2 points on average. They'll need to do better than that this year, but a 9-8 mark again probably won't get them into the post-season. The draft was solid, but starting three or even four rookies on defense isn't exactly a plan for success.

Indianapolis Colts

2023 Record: 9-8
Off. Rank: 15 | Def. Rank: 24
Points Scored: 23.3 (10) | Allowed: 24.4 (28)

Top Draft Picks:
1(15), Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA
2(20), Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas
3(15), Matt Goncalves, OT, Pittsburgh
4(17), Tanor Bortolini, C, Wisconsin
5(7), Anthony Gould, WR, Oregon State
5(16), Jaylon Carlies, S, Missouri
5(29), Jaylin Simpson, S, Auburn

2024 Projection: 7-10

Comment: Because the QB job might be a revolving door between Anthony Richardson, Joe Flacco, Sam Ehlinger, and Kedon Slovis, the Colts may show further inconsistency on offense in 2024. Meanwhile, the team may have nabbed the best defensive player in the draft, getting UCLA's Laiatu Latu at #15. One of two safties drafted, either Jaylon Carlies or Jaylin Simpson, is likely to start. Defense improves, but offense sputters.

Tennessee Titans

2023 Record: 6-11
Off. Rank: 28 | Def. Rank: 18
Points Scored: 17.9 (27) | Allowed: 21.6 (16)

Top Draft Picks:
1(7), JC Latham, OT, Alabama
2(6), T'Vondre Sweat, DT, Texas
4(6), Cedric Gray, LB, North Carolina
5(11), Jarvis Brownlee Jr., CB, Louisville
6(6), Jha'Quan Jackson, WR, Tulane

2024 Projection: 4-13

Comment: Mike Vrabel is out and Brian Callahan in as head coach for 2024, which means that Derrick Henry is probably not going to lead the league in rushing. The Titans, just a few years removed from a conference championship, disintegrated in 2023 and the re-adjustments this season are likely to be gut-wrenching. Hard to determine which squad is worse, offense or defense. They both stink. Tennessee will be down in the gutter for a season or two, at least.

AFC South

Kansas City Chiefs

2023 Record: 11-6
Off. Rank: 9 | Def. Rank 2
Points Scored: 21.8 (15) | Allowed: 17.3 (2)

Top Draft Picks:
1(28), Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas
2(31), Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU
4(31), Jared Wiley, TE, TCU
4(33), Jaden Hicks, S, Washington State
5(24), Hunter Nourzad, C, Penn State

2024 Projection: 13-4

Comment: The Chiefs struggled a bit after their week 10 bye in 2023 with a 2-4 mark, but pulled together, winning their last two games over the Bengals and Rams. Their playoff run was a thing of beauty resulting in another ring for Mahomes, Kelce, and coach Andy Reid. Kansas City is rewriting NFL history and will be a major factor in December and January again. The rest of the West division isn't very good. KC could sweep all six games.

Las Vegas Raiders

2023 Record: 8-9
Off. Rank: 27 | Def. Rank: 15
Points Scored: 19.5 (23) | Allowed: 19.5 (9)

Top Draft Picks:
1(13), Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
2(12), Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon
3(13), Delmar Glaze, OT, Maryland
4(12), Decamerion Richardson, CB, Mississippi State
5(13), Tommy Eichenberg, LB, Ohio State

2024 Projection: 10-7

Comment: Gardner Minshew has proven he can play in the NFL. How far he can take the Raiders this season is a topic of many debates. The Las Vegas draft picks addressed the team's needs smartly, and TE Brock Bowers is likely to be an instant all-star. Tommy Eichenberg, linebacker from Ohio State, will fit in nicely on an improving defense. The Raiders are playoff possible if the offense clicks.

Los Angeles Chargers

2023 Record: 5-12
Off. Rank: 18 | Def. Rank: 28
Points Scored: 20.4 (21) | Allowed: 23.4 (24)

Top Draft Picks:
1(5), Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame
2(2), Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia
3(5), Junior Colson, LB, Michigan
4(5), Justin Eboigbe, DT, Alabama
5(2), Tarheeb Still, CB, Maryland
5(5), Cam Hart, CB, Notre Dame

2024 Projection: 7-10

Comment: The Chargers disintegrated in 2023 and it's going to take a supreme effort by Jim Harbaugh to re-invigorate the franchise and get them back to the playoffs, a feat they've accomplished only twice since 2013 (2018, 2022). This is probably not the year, though they will likely be better. Help is needed at a variety of positions and the draft didn't fill all the holes.

Denver Broncos

2023 Record: 8-9
Off. Rank: 26 | Def. Rank 29
Points Scored: 21.0 (19) | Allowed: 24.3 (27)

Top Draft Picks:
1(12), Bo Nix, QB, Oregon
3(12), Jonah Elliss, EDGE, Utah
4(2), Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon
5(10), Kris Abrams-Draine, CB, Missouri
5(12), Audric Estime, RB, Notre Dame

2024 Projection: 6-11

Comment: The Broncos are in a playoff drought since 2015, which was also the last time the won the division title. The team seemed to be jelling mid-season with five straight wins, but once the calendar turned to December, they went 2-4 and out of the playoffs again. The starting QB could be Bo Nix or Zach Wilson, ot both. No matter what happens offensively, the defense needs more help than the draft provided. Looks like another Rocky Mountain sigh.

NFC East

Dallas Cowboys

2023 Record: 12-5
Off. Rank: 5 | Def. Rank: 5
Points Scored: 29.9 (1) | Allowed 18.5 (5)

Top Draft Picks:
1(29), Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma
2(24), Marshawn Kneeland, EDGE, Western Michigan
3(9), Cooper Beebe, OG, Kansas State
3(24), Marist Liufau, LB, Notre Dame
5(39), Caelen Carson, CB, Wake Forest

2024 Projection: 11-6

Comment: The Cowboys should win the division and make the playoffs, as usual. How far they proceed in the playoffs depends on keeping Dak Prescott healthy and the defense at peak performance. Micah Parsons creates nightmares for opposing QBs and offensive coordinators. Trevon Diggs is a standout cornerback.

Philadelphia Eagles

2023 Record: 11-6
Off. Rank: 8 | Def. Rank: 26
Points Scored: 25.5 (7) | Allowed: 25.2 (30)

Top Draft Picks:
1(22), Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo
2(8), Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa
3(31), Jalyx Hunt, EDGE, Houston Christian
4(27), Will Shipley, RB, Clemson
5(17), Ainias Smith, WR, Texas A&M
5(20), Jeremiah Trotter Jr., LB, Clemson
5(37), Trevor Keegan, OG, Michigan

2024 Projection: 9-8

Comment: After a blistering, 10-1, start to the season in 2023, the Eagles absolutely fell apart in December and January, losing five of their last six and being one-and-done in a 32-9 blowout loss at Tampa Bay in the Wild Card. The problem was twofold. Defenses had figured out Philly's offense and the Eagles' defense couldn't make plays. With many players returning, the Eagles are likely to rebound, but making the playoffs is not assured.

New York Giants

2023 Record: 6-11
Off. Rank: 29 | Def. Rank: 27
Points Scored: 15.6 (30) | Allowed: 23.9 (26)

Top Draft Picks:
1(6), Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
2(15), Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota
3(6), Andru Phillips, CB, Kentucky
4(7), Theo Johnson, TE, Penn State
5(31), Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB, Purdue

2024 Projection: 8-9

Comment: Losing QB Daniel Jones in the fifth game of the 2023, the Giants were all but done by then anyway, the 31-16 loss at Miami made them 1-4 to start the season and it went downhill from there. Replacement Tommy DeVito got some fans excited, but the ball will be in the hands of Jones this season. The Giants need to start and finish better (games and the season, both) if they intend to compete with the likes of Dallas and Philadelphia.

Washington Commanders

2023 Record: 4-13
Off. Rank: 24 | Def. Rank: 32
Points Scored: 19.4 (25) | Allowed: 30.5 (32)

Top Draft Picks:
1(2), Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU
2(4), Jer'Zhan Newton, DT, Illinois
2(18), Mike Sainristil, CB, Michigan
2(21), Ben Sinnott, TE, Kansas State
3(3), Brandon Coleman, OG, TCU
3(37), Luke McCaffrey, WR, Rice
5(4), Jordan Magee, LB, Temple
5(26), Dominique Hampton, S, Washington

2024 Projection: 5-12

Comment: With a productive draft snagging 6 players in the first three rounds, Washington hopes to improve on its forgettable 2023 campaign. The quarterback position could turn out to be a merry-go-round between Jayden Daniels, Marcus Mariota, Jeff Driskel, and Sam Hartman, though it appears the future belongs to Hartman. Finishing dead last in points allowed, the Commanders need lots of help in the stoppage department. Maybe next year.

NFC North

Detroit Lions

2023 Record: 12-5
Off. Rank: 3 | Def. Rank: 19
Points Scored: 27.1 (5) | Allowed: 23.2 (23)

Top Draft Picks:
1(24), Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama
2(29), Ennis Rakestraw Jr., CB, Missouri
4(26), Giovanni Manu, OT, Brit Columbia
4(32), Sione Vaki, S, Utah
6(13), Mekhi Wingo, DT, LSU

2024 Projection: 12-5

Comment: After winning their division for the first time in 30 years, Lions' fans will be screaming for more successes from head coach Dan Campbell and QB Jared Goff, who came within a field goal in a 34-31 conference championship loss at San Francisco of making the Super Bowl. As long as the offense keeps producing, the defense can improve during the season, so, by crunch time, everybody will be ready to rock. At least that's the big hope in Motor City for 2024.

Green Bay Packers

2023 Record: 9-8
Off. Rank: 11 | Def. Rank: 17
Points Scored: 22.5 (12) | Allowed: 20.6 (10)

Top Draft Picks:
1(25), Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona
2(13), Edgerrin Cooper, LB, Texas A&M
2(26), Javon Bullard, S, Georgia
3(25), MarShawn Lloyd, RB, USC
3(28), Ty'Ron Hopper, LB, Missouri
4(11), Evan Williams, S, Oregon

2024 Projection: 11-6

Comment: After the Lions, the Packers turned into the most exciting team in the NFC, winning six of their last eight games to make the playoffs, then winning a wild card, only to lose to the 49ers by a field goal in a divisional clash. Jordan Love and his cadre of talented young receivers have big hopes for the 2024 campaign and their 2023 finish attests to the team's overall ability. Their defense could become even more stingy, a big plus.

Chicago Bears

2023 Record: 7-10
Off. Rank: 20 | Def. Rank: 12
Points Scored: 21.2 (18) | Allowed: 22.3 (20)

Top Draft Picks:
1(1), Caleb Williams, QB, USC
1(9), Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
3(11), Kiran Amegadjie, OT, Yale
4(22), Tory Taylor, P, Iowa
5(9), Austin Booker, EDGE, Kansas

2024 Projection: 8-9

Comment: There are high hopes in Chicago with the #1 draft pick, Caleb Williams, and all the hype surrounding him, but its a familiar refrain that often doesn't pan out. Williams will have ample support from receivers Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, but the Bears allowed far too many sacks last season to think that Williams will be doing anything other than running for his life most of the time. It's a maturing process and the Bears are playing catch-up in the division.

Minnesota Vikings

2023 Record: 7-10
Off. Rank: 10 | Def. Rank: 16
Points Scored: 20.2 (22) | Allowed: 21.3 (13)

Top Draft Picks:
1(10) J.J. McCarthy QB Michigan
1(17) Dallas Turner EDGE Alabama
4(8) Khyree Jackson CB Oregon
6(1) Walter Rouse OT Oklahoma
6(27) Will Reichard PK Alabama

2024 Projection: 7-10

Comment: Will Sam Darnold take the starting job at QB or is J.J. McCarthy the answer straight off winning a national championship at Michigan? Whoever gets behind center for the Vikings this season, they'll have a good arsenal, with Aaron Jones coming over from Green Bay, and Justin Jefferson and Jalen Nailor at wideout positions. After losing Kirk Cousins and Joshua Dobbs last season, the Vikings still had playoff hopes, but lost their final four games of the season. Look fora rough start and improvement as the season progresses.

NFC South

Atlanta Falcons

2023 Record: 7-10
Off. Rank: 17 | Def. Rank: 11
Points Scored: 18.9 (26) | Allowed: 21.9 (18)

Top Draft Picks:
1(8), Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington
2(3), Ruke Orhorhoro, DT, Clemson
3(10), Bralen Trice, EDGE, Washington
4(9), Brandon Dorlus, DT, Oregon
5(8), JD Bertrand, LB, Notre Dame

2024 Projection: 9-8

Comment: Kirk Cousins is likely to start at QB for the Falcons, but if the team gets off to a rough start, the future belongs to Michael Penix Jr., who guided the Washington Huskies to the national championship game in January and now joins the ranks of the NFL. The Falcons need to improve in many areas, especially in the red zone. They were 9th in rushing last year, so they can lean on Bijan Robinson and a bevy of back-ups. This division is ripe for the taking and Atlanta may find a way to squeak by.

New Orleans Saints

2023 Record: 9-8
Off. Rank: 14 | Def. Rank: 13
Points Scored: 23.6 (9) | Allowed: 19.2 (8)

Top Draft Picks:
1(14), Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State
2(9), Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama
5(15), Spencer Rattler, QB, South Carolina
5(35), Bub Means, WR, Pittsburgh
5(40), Jaylan Ford, LB, Texas

2024 Projection: 9-8

Comment: Derek Carr needs to stay healthy for the Saints to remain in position when the going gets tough near the end of the season. New Orleans was very spotty through most of 2023, but won four of its last five to finish on a positive note, just missing out on a playoff spot. They'll be gunning for the division title in what looks to be a three-way battle.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2023 Record: 9-8
Off. Rank: 23 | Def. Rank: 23
Points Scored: 20.5 (20) | Allowed: 19.1 (7)

Top Draft Picks:
1(26), Graham Barton, C, Duke
2(25), Chris Braswell, EDGE, Alabama
3(26), Tykee Smith, S, Georgia
3(29), Jalen McMillan, WR, Washington
4(25), Bucky Irving, RB, Oregon

2024 Projection: 8-9

Comment: The Bucs surged at the end of last season, winning five of their last six to take the division and then thump the Eagles in the Wild Card round. Baker Mayfield and his cohorts are looking to get off to a better start, but this division defies analysis year in and year out, and the Bucs could easily finish 10-7 or 7-10.

Carolina Panthers

2023 Record: 2-15
Off. Rank: 32 | Def. Rank: 4
Points Scored: 20.5 (20) | Allowed: 19.1 (7)

Top Draft Picks:
1(26), Graham Barton, C, Duke
2(25), Chris Braswell, EDGE, Alabama
3(26), Tykee Smith, S, Georgia
3(29), Jalen McMillan, WR, Washington
4(25), Bucky Irving, RB, Oregon

2024 Projection: 4-13

Comment: If there's anything for certain in this most uncertain of divisions, it's that the Panthers will finish last again, following up a league-worst 2-15 mark with a slightly improved performance, maybe winning as many as five games. They're a long way from being even respectable.

NFC West

San Francisco 49ers

2023 Record: 12-5
Off. Rank: 2 | Def. Rank: 8
Points Scored: 28.9 (3) | Allowed: 17.5 (3)

Top Draft Picks:
1(31), Ricky Pearsall, WR, Florida
2(32), Renardo Green, CB, Florida State
3(23), Dominick Puni, OT, Kansas
4(24), Malik Mustapha, S, Wake Forest
4(29), Isaac Guerendo, RB, Louisville
4(35), Jacob Cowing, WR, Arizona

2024 Projection: 11-6

Comment: The 49ers took the Chiefs to overtime in the Super Bowl last season, so there's little reason to doubt they'll experience success in 2024. Brock Purdy has proven to be resilient and highly effient as a QB and Christian McCaffrey may lead the league in yards from scrimmage. The team must not let success get into their heads as the season wears on if they wish to win the ultimate prize. A solid draft suggests the offense may be even more explosive.

Los Angeles Rams

2023 Record: 10-7
Off. Rank: 7 | Def. Rank: 20
Points Scored: 23.8 (8) | Allowed: 22.2 (19)

Top Draft Picks:
1(19), Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State
2(7), Braden Fiske, DT, Florida State
3(19), Blake Corum, RB, Michigan
3(36), Kamren Kinchens, S, Miami
5(19), Brennan Jackson, EDGE, Washington State

2024 Projection: 11-6

Comment: Sean McVay enters the 2024 season with a 7045 mark (.609) as the Rams head coach over seven seasons, so the LA faithful expect another strong performance from their team. The Rams struggled to a 3-6 mark to start the 2023 season, but finished by winning 7 of 8 to reach the playoffs, only to be knocked off in the widl card game by Detroit, 24-23. They certainly look playoff-caliber again and may go deeper into the post-season this year.

Seattle Seahawks

2023 Record: 9-8
Off. Rank: 21 | Def. Rank: 30
Points Scored: 21.4 (17) | Allowed: 23.6 (25)

Top Draft Picks:
1(16), Byron Murphy II, DT, Texas
3(17), Christian Haynes, OG, UConn
4(18), Tyrice Knight, LB, UTEP
4(21), AJ Barner, TE, Michigan
5(1), Nehemiah Pritchett, CB, Auburn

2024 Projection: 8-9

Comment: What was once a dominating defense dropped to near the bottom of the league last season and the Seahawks drafted for defensive players in three of their top five picks. There doesn't appear to be a lot of depth on this team and playing in the same division as two perennial playoff contenders - the 49ers and Rams - is troubling. Anything over .500 would be considered a solid season, though it might not be good enough for January football.

Arizona Cardinals

Comment: A tough division, lots of holes to fill on both sides of the ball and too many injuries adds up to another frustrating season in Arizona. Sorry, but the competition is tough. The Cardinals did manage to draft seven players in the first three rounds, so the future could be brighter. Look for Arizona to maybe become competitive later in the year and possibly upset a contender or two.
