February, 2026, Volume 3, #2

1. Cover - For a change, this month's cover actually shows some of the stories contained in the February 2026 issue. Graphics are not a strong point at IdleGuy.com, but we're seeking help.

2. From the Publisher's Desk - Fearless Rick takes a poke at the president and his half-baked plans of annexation or resource theft in Venezuela and Greenland. The publisher's desk is also the subject of the lamentable conditions of the modern world giving way to everybody having to fly by the seat of his or her pants.

3. Contents /Credits - One can always click back to this page to see brief - and sometimes funny - synopses of the articles in the issue, plus, some neat pictures.

4. Calendar - The calendar is once again dominated by sports, with NASCAR and the PGA Tour getting underway, along with the Winter Olympics and Super Bowl LX (60).

5. State of the World - "What Really Happed at Davos" is a satirical survey piece covering the most recent gathering of the rich and infamous at the World Economic Forum. Some of the graphics may help improve your mental health as well as offering a not-so-serious view of the elitist class.

6. Feature - "You Are the Media You Consume" attempts to identify various segments of the general population according to their individual reading, watching, and listening habits. There's a reason for this article, though nobody's been able to discern exactly what the point of it is.

7. Sports - The three major events of February - the Winter Olympics, Super Bowl LX (60), and the Daytona 500 are featured and updated as the events proceed.

7a. Sports Extra - College Hoops Players of the Day are featured on a daily basis as NCAA basketball wends through conference play, towards conference tournaments, Selection Sunday and the 2026-26 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, AKA, Hoops Heaven (because nobody is allowed to call it "March Madness" because of trademarks or copyright laws. Same with "Super Bowl". Kinda stupid.)

8. Money - As money, lifestyles, affordability and global economics encroach upon everybody's standards of living, those dabbling or diving into investments should be aware of the various stages of advances and/or declines and the characteristics which define them. This month's money article attempts to do that.

9. Food & Drink - Minestrone Soup. Fearless Rick re-invents a recipe he found - and lost - a decade ago, with outstandingly positive results. If you thought you knew how to make the best minestrone soup with a minimum of fuss, think again. It's delicious.

10. Books - It being winter, the IdleGuy.com Librarian thought it would be a good idea to keep this month's offerings of free downloads on te chilly side, so Hemingway's "The Snows of Kilimanjaro", Steinbeck's "The Winter of Our Discontent", Jack London's "The Call of the Wild", and the recent fiction by Peter Høeg, "Smilla's Sense of Snow" are presented.

11. Public Domain / Toast of the Town - A story with a moral is this month's short feature from Indonesia. "Bawang Merah dan Bawang Putih" is a traditional folk classic that encapsulates the virtue of being kind and honest.

12. Back Page - Preview of the March, 2026 issue, plus the IdleGuy.com contact form.

Marketplace - Items for sale from IdleGuy.com are available in the Marketplace, which is also open to the general public for listing advertisements or goods and services for sale.

Daily Idler - The daily jumping off point for Idleguys everywhere. Links to games, sports, beers, money sites, worldwide news sites and much more.

Home - The home page of Idleguy.com, where the cover of every issue since inception is presented with links to all articles and features.
