Contents, January, 2026 | Volume 3, No. 1
1. Cover - This month's cover was designed with minimalism and a 1950s vibe in mind. There's really nothing very special or significant about it other than it only took about 12 minutes to create, and maybe that's the message for 2026: getting things done faster, without errors.
2. From the Publisher's Desk - Notorious for not keeping New Year resolutions, Fearless Rick takes the easy way out by suggesting resolutions that other, possibly famous people might consider. Plus the IdleGuy.com 2025 Person of the Year is revealed.
3. Contents /Credits - It's always difficult to write a fitting description for the page that is currently displayed, so there isn't one.
4. Calendar - Football took precedence on the calendar in December and spills over into January with the CFP and NFL playoffs. Golf reappears this month.
5. State of the World - The first half od the alphabet is represented in IdleGuy.com's annual ABCeDarian Year in Review, looking back at the past 365 days by the letters.
6. Feature - The second half od the alphabet is represented in IdleGuy.com's annual ABCeDarian Year in Review
7. Sports - Focused on college basketball, this page gets updated daily with the College Hoops Player of the Day.
7a. Sports Extra - Fearless Rick & Coin Flip Football Picks are featured weekly. As the number of games declines through January, there will be more special features presented, like leaders charts, odd stats, and historical references.
8. Money - Tulips, anyone? IdleGuy.co offers a brief rundown of some of the worst financial errors of all time and how to avoid falling into traps like those. Bottom line: As George Santayana quipped, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
9. Food & Drink - Forget going on a diet in January. It's just not going to happen and you know it. Better to think about food and eat like an athlete, though some of the most elite sports figures don't always follow their own rules.
10. Books - A special nod to BRICS by the IdleGuy.com Librarian includes a selection of books that dive deeply into the cultural frameworks of China, India, and Russia.
11. Public Domain / Toast of the Town - In keeping with the theme in books, this month's short story is by an unknown Chinese author, in the story of The Four Dragons.
12. Back Page - A few suggestions for the February issue are floated, along with the usual contact information.
Marketplace - There are some deals to be had in the IdleGuy.com Marketplace and more will be added throughout the month. It's also free to register as a seller and there are no fees.
Daily Idler - Links to news, sports, finance, and beer sites, along with a stock scroller, games and the IdleGuy.com Daily Quiz.
Home - Every cover since inception in 2023 provides an easy way to find the best articles on the site.
