Contents - June 2025 - Volume 2, #6

1. Cover - This month's cover shows red roses, which bloom generously in June. The cover reminds us that roses - as a metaphor for love and harmony - are always appreciated by nature lovers and just plain... lovers. Not only do roses whisper romance, red roses practically shout it. There's really something special about roses dancing in the wind. Their beauty and elegance has been appreciated by cultures worldwide through the ages.

2. From the Publisher's Desk - Those who fail to understand the nature of negotiation and employ its tactics in everyday activities are missing out on what makes the world tick. Negotiation in humans begins the moment a baby cries for more milk and ends when that same human cries out for relief.

3. Contents /Credits - Yes, here we are. The credits are below, or on the sidebar, somewhere.

4. Calendar - A generous assortment of sporting, political, financial events, plus festivals and shows of interest around the world. Highlights this month come from Roland Garros in France and Wimbledon in England. Don't miss a thing with the idleguy.com calendar, updated irregularly.

5. State of the World - Is it evolving into a totalitarian dystopia or does the world seem to be heading in a rather different direction. Perhaps it depends on one's own state of mind and geographic location. Viewing the world as one is almost an impossible task, but somebody has to at least try to make sense of it.

6. Feature - idleguy.com and dtmagazine.com are holding an inventory reduction sale. Between them, more than 5,000 magazines are in stock, and some need new homes. Some of the featured lots will go rather quickly, but there's more at the online store.

7. Sports - There won't be a Triple Crown champion in horse racing this year, but that doesn't mean the Belmont Stakes - running this year at Saratoga - won't be interesting. Fearless Rick provides horses for the stakes races preceeding the min event on May 7. After that, tennis, anyone?

7a. Sports Extra - Players of the Day (POTD) in both the American and National League. Amaze your friends every morning with details about the guy how hit three home runs or the hurler who struck out 12. Updated daily.

8. Money - Will there be a financial crisis? While the answer to that is undeniably yes, the questions are more about when it will occur and what will be the outcome. A currency reset is being discussed. the Money page explores some of the details.

9. Food & Drink - It's summer. You've worked off the belly fat and hardened your abs, but do you adhere to proper patio ettiquette? Knowning how to properly eat a hot dog is important, as well as where not to do bong hits.

10. Books - The idleguy.com librarian thought it might be a good idea to go for some light reading, like Plato's Republic, Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises and Donad Trump's The Art of the Deal in advance of next month's mandatory summer reading list. All available for free download, of course.

11. Public Domain / Toast of the Town - Duffers and club champions alike will relish the golfing story by the masterful slicer of human affairs himself, P.G. Wodehouse.

12. Back Page - some ideas for the July issue, plus the contact form to reach idleguy.com.

Daily Idler - The idleguy.com Daily Quiz, Toast of the Town, History Today, Daily Crossword and Sudoku, plus links for beers, horses, many sports, finance and much more...
