Easy Holiday Cookie Treats?

To be perfectly honest, when the idleguy.com experimental kitchen came up with the idea for Christmas cookie recipes so easy guys could make them, we were skeptical.

Turns out, we were pretty much right. While some of these recipes might carry a “don’t try this at home” warning for most guys, best advice is to find somebody who actually knows a thing or two about baking, like your sister, mother, or, if you’re really lucky, your girlfriend or wife. Making cookies is serious stuff and you don’t really want to embarrass yourself, do you. You might be better off spending a few bucks at a local bakery, but here are some ideas, anyway.

Easy Chocolate Christmas Cookies dipped in White Chocolate - Rebecca at Devour Dinner says these cookies are great because they are soft, chewy, chocolatey, delicious, and require only three ingredients. We’re sold!

Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies - Combine the flavors of cocoa, chocolate, cinnamon, marshmallows, chili powder, and cayenne pepper for a taste of chewy hot chocolate without the fuss. (The Real Food Dietitians)

Espresso Chocolate Crinkle Cookies - From Barley and Sage, Kyleigh offers these dainty, yet expressive sweets. A cross between a chewy brownie cookie and a snowball cookie, rolled in powdered sugar before baking, these crinkles get an added boost from espresso powder, brown sugar, and cocoa.

Peppermint White Chocolate Chip Cookies - This delightful recipe results in a tasty cookie with a soft and chewy texture, and great flavor from white chocolate chips, peppermint bits, and peppermint extract. (From Completely Delicious)

Frosted Eggnog Cookies - Thanks to Ruby at Half Full, we got a cookie that had eggnog, cinnamon, brown sugar, and nutmeg all in one. A little harder than most of the recipes in this year’s group, but tasty!

Cinnamon Roll Cookies With Cream Cheese Frosting - From Kathryn’s Kitchen Blog, these taste just like cinnamon rolls in a soft and chewy cookie, made with a buttery cookie dough base, filled with pockets of cinnamon, and topped with a cream cheese frosting.

Marbled Shortbread Cookies - With a buttery cookie base, sweet coffee caramel, and luscious chocolate top layer, these Marbled Shortbread Cookies are a household favorite at Sanna’s place, the originator at Woman Scribbles.

Easy Slice ‘n’ Baked Vanilla Bean Christmas Sugar Cookies w/Whipped Buttercream - Tieghan Gerard at Half-Baked Harvest invented these cookies are “just a simple blend of butter, sugar and vanilla.” The kicker is the topping, vanilla buttercream, salted caramel

Oreo Ornament Cookies - This super easy, no-bake recipe from Kathryn’s Kitchen Blog makes delicious treats using one of America’s favorite cookie: Oreos. Oreo cookies are dipped in melted chocolate and then decorated with more chocolate, festive sprinkles and a Rolo candy on top to look like a pretty ornament ready to hang… off the roof of your mouth.

Cardamom Butter Cookies - Pink Owl Kitchen brings cardamom into play with these delicate treats. Cardamom is a complex spice with herby, fruity, minty, and spicy notes and lends itself beautifully to these subtly sweet, buttery cookies.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Christmas Trees - A stroke of genius from Clubhouse Magazine inspired Julie at Lovely Little Kitchen to explain how to make these delights using Oreos, strawberries (duh!), melted chocolate, green dye and sprinkles.

BUTTERY TOFFEE WHITE CHOCOLATE MACADAMIA NUT COOKIES - Finally, here’s Julie again from Lovely Little Kitchen with these savory, sweet and salty balanced cookies with toffee chips and butter flavoring that make them extra rich and indulgent. When baked properly, they’ll have a crisp edge and chewy center.
