October, 2025 • Volume 2, #10

1. Cover - This month’s cover was inspired by eating steak, which comes from cows. This cover was meant to portray reality. Cows eat grass and grow into large animals which are slaughtered and provide nutrition - and great levels of protein - to human beings. BTW: Talking animals do not exist, except on magazine covers, TV shows and comic books.

2. From the Publisher's Desk - Fearless Rick takes a hard, cold look at reality, real things, real people, real places, real facts, and decries what the media force-feeds the public, hoping to lead them to a pseudo-realism that exists only in the minds of sick, twisted people who hope for tragedy and human suffering.

3. Contents /Credits - Yes, once again, YOU ARE HERE.

4. Calendar - October is filled with baseball, as MLB’s post-season playoffs head toward the eventuality of the World Series.

5. State of the World - There's big trouble in Europe's biggest countries. This month's SOTW focuses on France, with a guest article by Thomas Kolbe, republished from American Thinker.

6. Feature - Since reality is all-too-often hard-nosed and without sympathy, IdleGuy.com chose to take on Artificial Intelligence in a lighter tone, poking fun and today’s unrealities with a comparison with people, places, and events from the past, pointing out possible deep fakes.

7. Sports - Fearless Rick and Coin Flip's Weekly NFL Picks are featured and updated weekly on the Sports Page.

7a. Sports Extra - C’mon, man! It’s October baseball. Coverage of the MLB playoffs and Players of the Day throughout the post-season, leading to the World Series (which will only spill over into November if there’s a Game 7).

8. Money - Sticking with this month’s theme of realism, some insights into gold and silver as real money and how fiat currencies are nothing more than substitutes and credit.

9. Food & Drink - All about steak and steak sauce from the IdleGuy.com Koncept Kitchen.

10. Books - This month’s selection of free downloads are reality-based and maybe a little over the top, including “The Italians” by Luigi Barzini, “The French Revolution: A Very Short Introduction” by William Doyle, Rashid Khalidi’s work on Palestine, and John Mackinder’s seminal article, “The Geographical Pivot of History.”

11. Public Domain / Toast of the Town - When IdleGuy.com's librarian went looking for an appropriate story in the public domain, he wasn't thinking about Hans Christian Anderson's "The Emperor's New Clothes," but that's where he ended up. There's a message in there for emperors and those who aspire to be grand.

12. Back Page - What's ahead in November along with contact and other useless information.

Marketplace - Still working on it.

Daily Idler - Everything any guy - idle or otherwise - or gal needs to get through the day, wiht links to back issues, sports, stocks, beers, a daily quiz, crossword, Sudoku and more.

This month's issue is dedicated to Skye, a wonderful Belgian Shepherd and Fearless Rick's best buddy, passed away on October 1, 2025.

Everybody is sure Skye is chasing after a kong somewhere in the clouds, doing spin moves and having a wonderful time.
